Buckeyes, McGinty Lead After Round One of Spartan Sun Coast Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team and Caley McGinty are in first place after the first round of the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational on Sunday at Palm Aire Champions Course in Sarasota, Fla.
The Buckeyes shot a team score of 291 (+3) and have a five-stroke lead on second-place College of Charleston. Ohio State led the 15-team field in pars with 58 and also led in par four scoring, averaging a 4.08.
McGinty is tied for first place. She fired a 70 (-2) in round one. McGinty had 16 pars, which was tied for the most among all 81 players.
Kary Hollenbaugh also shot under par, shooting a 71 (-1). She is tied for fourth place. Hollenbaugh had five birdies, which was tied for the second-most of any player.
Faith Choi carded a one-over 73 and is tied for 12th place.
Jillian Bourdage and Kailie Vongsaga are tied for 37th place; both shot 77 (+5).
Due to inclement weather, only one round was played on Sunday. The tournament will wrap up on Monday, Feb. 19 with one more round.
