COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State will be the top seed in this weekend’s ITA Men’s National Team Indoor Championship in New York. The two sites being used are the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center at Columbia University and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The Buckeyes will open the 16-team tournament on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. against No. 21 Alabama. They will then play either Harvard or host Columbia on Saturday.

- The Buckeyes are the No. 1 seed in the event for the second consecutive season.
- Rivals on the football field, Ohio State and Alabama have met just seven times on the tennis court and not since the teams had a home-and-home series from 2002-2005. The Buckeyes lead the series 5-2.
- Ohio State is undefeated at 9-0 on the year with three wins against Top 15 opponents.
- The Buckeyes are two-time ITA National Indoor Champions, winning in 2014 and 2019. Ohio State is 40-17 in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
- Ohio State has reached the championship match six times and the semi-finals 11 times.
- Last year, the Buckeyes lost in the quarterfinals to Texas and then turned around and beat eventual national champion Virginia 4-0 in a consolation match.
- The Buckeyes advanced to the final site following 4-0 victories over Vanderbilt and Boise State in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus on Jan. 27-28.
- Ohio State had back-to-back Big Ten Men’s Tennis Athletes of the Week. Justin Boulais claimed the award on Jan. 31 for leading the Buckeyes through the Kickoff Weekend and Cannon Kingsley won the award Feb. 7 as he was 4-0 in the wins over Virginia and Wake Forest.
- Ohio State is the only school with three singles players in the Top 25 as JJ Tracy is No. 7, Jack Anthrop is No. 13 and Justin Boulais is No. 25. Cannon Kingsley checks in at No. 67 and Alexander Bernard is No. 86.
- In doubles, Tracy and Robert Cash are ranked No. 2 while Tracy and Bernard are No. 13 and Cash and freshman Bryce Nakashima are No. 35.
- Robert Cash is just 12 doubles wins shy of Peter Kobelt’s (2011-14) program record of 139 career doubles victories. Cash is 15-2 this season in doubles.
- Cannon Kingsley is five singles wins shy of 100 for his career.
