Carpico and Stearns Win Fighting Irish Mini Duals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Brandon Carpico and Preston Stearns claimed the title at the Fighting Irish Mini Duals this weekend in South Bend. Each mini dual consisted of a doubles match and two singles matches. The first school to win two out of three matches won the match.
The Buckeye duo beat Louisville’s Kosuke Nakanishi and Miguel Avendano 6-3 in the doubles match on Sunday morning and then Stearns clinched the win with a 1-6, 6-4, 10-3 singles victory over Nakanishi.
Stearns was undefeated on the weekend. He and Carpico won all four of their doubles matches and he went 4-0 in singles. Carpico won two of his four singles matches. Reece Yakubov and JP Day also competed this weekend.
