
23 Buckeyes Record NCAA B Standard Times on Day One of Fall Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10 Ohio State men's swimming and diving team and No. 15 women's swimming and diving team are in second place following day one of competition at the Ohio State Fall Invitational at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. 23 swimmers recorded NCAA B standard times on Thursday and seven divers turned in NCAA Zones qualifying scores.
The women totaled 750 points on Thursday, and trail first-place Indiana by just three points. The men compiled 687 points on day one. Indiana leads with 868.50 points.

- The Buckeyes opened Thursday's finals session with an automatic NCAA qualifying time of 1:27.59 in the 200 free relay. On the relay team were Teresa Ivan, Nyah Funderburke, Erin Little and Rachel Bockrath and they placed second overall.
- In the A final of the 500 free, Mila Nikanorov earned a second-place finish with an NCAA B standard time of 4:38.84. Mia Rankin finished sixth with an NCAA B cut of 4:43.62 and Gwen Woodbury finished ninth with an NCAA B standard time of 4:46.76. Emma Finlin was the winner of the B final; she touched the wall at 4:44.22, which is an NCAA B cut.
- Paige Hall took second in the A final of the 200 IM, turning in an NCAA B standard time of 1:57.08. Paige Delma finished sixth with an NCAA B cut of 1:58.33. Sienna Angove was the winner of the B final, recording an NCAA B standard time of 1:57.62.
- With an NCAA B cut time of 22.24, Ivan placed fourth in the 50 free A final. In the B final, Little placed third with an NCAA B standard time of 22.47.
- Lena Hentschel was the winner of the 3-meter dive with an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 344.55. Paola Pineda Vazquez (328.10) placed fourth and Mia Prusiecki (310.25) placed eighth; both of their scores are NCAA Zones qualifiers.
- Ohio State wrapped up day one of the Fall Invitational placing second in the 400 medley relay; the team of Funderburke, Maria Ramos, Hall and Bockrath turned in an NCAA provisional time of 3:30.96.
- During Thursday's prelims, Jessica Eden swam an NCAA B cut of 1:59.05 in the 200 IM, Tia Lindsay turned in an NCAA B cut time of 4:47.12 in the 500 free and Funderburke recorded an NCAA B standard time of 22.57 in the 50 free.
- In the 200 free relay, the team of Tomas Navikonis, Matt Klinge, Mario McDonald and Daniel Baltes placed third with a time of 1:16.78, which is a provisional NCAA time.
- Alex Axon was the third-place finisher in the 500 free A final with an NCAA B cut time of 4:13.77. Jordi Vilchez finished in 4:15.68 to place fourth; his time is an NCAA B cut. Navikonis (4:18.95) and Sam Campbell (4:20.40) finished eighth and ninth, respectively, both with NCAA B standard times. Alex Metzler won the B final with an NCAA B standard time of 4:18.07. Mason Edmund placed fourth in the B final, touching the wall in an NCAA B cut time of 4:20.30. TJ Frost took the top spot in the C final with an NCAA B standard time of 4:18.72.
- Tristan Jankovics took fourth in the 200 IM A final; he finished in an NCAA B standard time of 1:42.70. Luke Paxton was the winner of the D final; he finished in 1:48.10.
- In the A final of the 50 free, McDonald tied for eighth place, finishing in 19.74. During prelims, McDonald recorded an NCAA B standard time of 19.59. Baltes won the B final with an NCAA B cut time of 19.43. Klinge (19.54) placed third in the B final and Navikonis (19.68) tied for fifth; both times are NCAA B cuts. Evan Fentress won the C final with a time of 19.77 and Cornelius Jahn won the D final with a time of 20.17.
- The Buckeyes placed third in the 400 medley relay with the team of Jahn, Jankovics, Fentress and Baltes finishing in 3:06.59.
- In his first meet since the NCAA Championships, Clayton Chaplin placed second in the 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 342.65. Tyler Read placed third with a score of 340.30, Kylie Flory placed fifth with a score of 329.00 and Dom Roberto placed seventh with a score of 314.40; their scores are all NCAA Zones qualifiers.
- The Ohio State Fall Invitational continues Friday and Saturday. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, with diving prelims at 12:00 p.m. Finals will start at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, prelims will begin at 8:00 a.m., diving platform finals will begin at 12:00 p.m. and swimming finals will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
