Weekly highlight of the Buckeye student-athletes behind the major moments in Ohio State Athletics
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeyes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes Buckeye student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

- The trio all finished in the top 25 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship last Friday to earn All-Region honors.
- Mosley was eighth, Santos 11th and Von Scherr placed 24th. This is the third All-Region honor for Santos, while Mosley and Von Scherr were recognized for the first time.
- Santos and Mosley both earned a berth into the NCAA Championships, which will be held Saturday in Madison, Wis. Santos will be just the second Buckeye to race in the NCAA meet three times.
- Mosley, an All-American in the 800m outdoor last year, was also eighth at the Big Ten Championships to earn All-Big Ten honors.
- The trio helped the Buckeye women to a fifth-place finish at the regionals.
- Sisters Jacinda and Jadin Bonham connected on a goal in the Buckeyes 4-1 NCAA Tournament win over James Madison last Friday night.
- Jacinda crossed a ball into the back from just outside the box on the right and Jadin perfectly timed her run to finish the pass on the back side for her third goal of the season.
- The twin sisters became the first set of sisters to combine for a goal in program history.
- Jacinda also scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal earlier in the game, which was also her third goal of the season.
- At his first NCAA Great Lakes Regional, freshman Day finished 26th, just one spot out of All-Region recognition.
- He completed the 10K in 29:49.8 to cross the line first for the Buckeyes.
- Day and the Buckeye men were eighth, the first time the team was in the top 10 since 2019.
- Junior guard Chance Gray had the best game of her career and led the Buckeyes to a 2-0 week by averaging 22.0 points per game.
- In Tuesday's win against Charlotte, Gray tied a single-game program record by making nine three-pointers. That program record had been achieved only once previously when Kelsey Mitchell was 9-of-20 in January 2015. Gray was 9-of-14 (.643) from behind the arc, 11-of-17 (.647) from the field and totaled a career-high 31 points against the 49ers.
- In Sunday's win at Belmont, Gray totaled 13 points, a career-high four steals and a season-high four rebounds. This season, Gray leads the Buckeye offense with 17.3 points per game and is second with eight steals and seven assists.
- At the Elite Invitational, Feinberg led the Buckeye men with a 13-5 ledger in epee. He was one of just two men with double-digit victories on the day.
- Fencing in all 18 rounds on the day, he was 3-0 against UNC, Penn and Columbia, with 2-1 marks vs. Notre Dame and Duke.
- The Elite Invitational closed out 2024 team competition for the Buckeyes, with the men 12-5 so far this season.
- With a three-pointer in the first half last Friday at Texas A&M, Meechie Johnson Jr. recorded his 1,000th career point.
- He started his career at Ohio State in January of 2020 and has played 46 total games as a Buckeye. He has scored 159 points in an Ohio State uniform and 845 points across two seasons at South Carolina.
- Johnson has made multiple three-pointers in all three games so far this season and has made 170 in his career.
- At the Elite Invitational, her first collegiate team event, Klughardt led the Buckeye women with a 12-6 ledger in women's epee.
- She fenced in all 18 rounds and was 3-0 vs. UNC and Penn, 2-1 against Columbia and Duke and 1-2 vs. Princeton and Notre Dame.
- The event was the last for the Buckeyes in 2024 and the women are 14-5 so far on the year.
- Scored the match winner to give Ohio State the Big Ten Tournament Title in 1-0 victory over Michigan.
- Also scored the match winner in Big Ten tournament semifinal win over Washington, 3-1.
- Was named the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player and to the All-Tournament Team.
- Ohio State will host an NCAA Tournament match at 5 p.m. Nov. 24 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes will face either Western Michigan or SIUE.
- After more than a year away, Sasso returned to the mat for a 12-6 win vs. UT Chattanooga.
- Also posted a 13-9 victory in match with Edinboro.
- Improved career record to 96-12 with 49 wins in dual competitions.
- Ohio State returns home to face Hofstra at noon Sunday at the Covello i Center.
- For the second time this season, Thompson of the Ohio State men's hockey team has been honored with a Big Ten weekly award.
- After a five-point series in the Buckeyes' sweep at Lindenwood, Thompson was named B1G First Star of the Week Tuesday.
