COLUMBUS, Ohio – Graduate Riley Brengman of the Ohio State women's hockey team earned the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Defender of the Week award, the conference announced Monday.
Brengman, from China, Mich., led the Buckeyes with a +3 on ice and six blocked shots in the series split against No. 1 Wisconsin last weekend.
She helped the Buckeye blue line hold Wisconsin, who was averaging six goals and 40 shots per game to just six goals on the weekend and 24.00 shots per game.
Brengman tallied two assists against the Badgers, with one in each game.
Brengman and the Buckeyes play at Minnesota State this weekend, with game one set for 7 p.m. Friday and game two set for 3 p.m. Saturday from the Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn.
