How the Buckeye Goals Were Scored
- With under five minutes to play in the first period, the Badgers attempted to clear their zone but were stopped at the blue line in front of their own bench by Riley Brengman. Joy Dunne collected the puck and skated left of the Wisconsin net before sliding the puck across the goalie crease to Maddi Wheeler, who was crashing the net. Wheeler one-timed the pass from Dunne past the outstretched glove of Badger goaltender Ava McNaughton to score against her former team and put the Buckeyes on the board 15:26 into the game.
- Buglioni doubled the Buckeyes' lead just 14 seconds later. After she won a faceoff in the Wisconsin zone, she positioned herself in front of the Badgers' goal. Brengman collected the faceoff from Buglioni and dropped the puck off for Dunne, who sent it down the slot for Buglioni to knock past McNaughton at 15:40.
- Friday night's game was played in front of a sold-out crowd at the OSU Ice Rink. Announced attendance at the game was 784.
- Ohio State goaltender Amanda Thiele made 22 saves in the loss for her third 20-plus save game of the season.
- Dunne's two assists in the game led the Buckeyes and gave her five multi-point games this season.
- Dunne and Buglioni both extend their point streaks to eight games. Buglioni now has a goal in seven of the last eight games for Ohio State.
