The national No. 1 and the Big Ten tournament No. 1 seed men’s soccer team (13-1-3) scored three second-half goals Sunday to defeat No. 4 Washington, 3-1, to advance to the 2024 Big Ten tournament championship match next Sunday at 3 p.m. right here at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium vs. Michigan. Admission and parking is free!



It is an exciting start to the season for the No. 21 men’s basketball team: an impressive 80-72 victory over No. 19 Texas in the Hall of Fame Series event in Las Vegas last Monday and a decisive win over Youngstown State last night.



The No. 10 women’s soccer team (12-5-3) dropped a 1-0 OT decision to No. 4 USC in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament. The team has qualified for the NCAAs and will host James Madison Friday in opening round action at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

The No. 14 women’s basketball team opened its 2024-25 season with a 104-69 win Cleveland State (0-1) last Tuesday evening behind 31 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals from true freshman guard Jaloni Cambridge.



The No. 12/13 men’s hockey team dropped its first games of the season but enters this weekend’s series at Lindenwood with a fine 7-2-1 overall record.

The No. 5 field hockey team lost a hard-fought 2-1 decision to fourth-seeded Rutgers Thursday in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. The loss closes a fine, 14-5, 4-4 Big Ten, season for the Buckeyes.

Women’s volleyball (11-14; 4-11 Big Ten) had a 1-1 week, including defeating Michigan in a thrilling five-set match.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams improved their dual meet records to 4-0 and 5-0, respectively, with dominant wins over Penn State Friday at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.




Men’s tennis players Bryce Nakashima and Will Jansen earned a spot in the NCAA Championship later this month with a third-place finish at the ITA Central Sectional in Fort Worth over the weekend while Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico finished runner-up at the Big Ten Singles & Doubles Championship in Madison, Wis.
