Buckeyes Claim Three Weekly B1G Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 2 Ohio State remained undefeated (9-0-2) with wins at Michigan (6-3) and at home Monday over Washington (2-0) and the Big Ten Conference Office took notice by naming three Buckeyes winners of weekly honors.
Graduate David Wrona earned the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week with three goals, two of which were match winners, and two assists over the last two matches to help the Buckeyes to a 4-0-1 record in the Big Ten.
Wrona scored twice at Michigan while adding a pair of assists as well against the Wolverines. He then scored on a breakaway to open the scoring in the win over the Huskies.
Senior Siggi Magnusson earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and redshirt junior Max Trejo took home Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
Magnusson led the Ohio State defensive effort by not allowing the Huskies a shot on net. Magnusson played the full 180 minutes in the two wins.
Trejo played 171 minutes and allowed just one goal over the last two games. He recorded his third shutout of the season and eighth of his career with the clean sheet in the Washington match. Trejo is 5-0-1 this season. This is the second weekly award for Trejo this year. He was named the goalkeeper of the week Sept. 17 as well.
Overall, Ohio State has claimed eight weekly conference awards this season.
Ohio State travels to UCLA for the first Big Ten meeting between the schools Friday. First touch is set for 10 p.m. ET with B1G+ providing the live stream.
