Bouzakis Opens U23 World Championships Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nick Bouzakis, a redshirt sophomore on the Ohio State wrestling team, will compete this weekend at the U23 World Championships in Tirana, Albania.
The freestyle competition at the U23 World Championships gets underway Friday.
Bouzakis, a native of Tampa, Florida, owns a 33-12 overall record with the Buckeyes, which includes 12 pins.
He earned a trip to the U23 World Championships after winning the U23 Freestyle Nationals with a 7-0 record at 61kg in early June. That event was held in Geneva, Ohio.
Bouzakis is no stranger to international competition. He won Gold for Team USA at the 2023 U20 Pan-Am Wrestling Championships in Santiago, Chile with a 5-0 record at 61kg.
He finished with a bronze medal at the 2023 U20 World Championships in Amman City, Jordan, with a 4-1 record for Team USA at 61kg.
