Max Montes scored three goals, including game winners in both of the men’s hockey team’s (3-0-1; 2-0-0) victories over Wisconsin in Madison, 2-1 in overtime Friday and 2-1 Saturday. Friday’s win was the 200th career victory for Buckeye head coach Steve Rohlik and it came versus his alma mater.

Women’s tennis player Luciana Perry won the ITA Midwest Regional Championships singles title last week and has qualified for the NCAA singles championship later this fall.



The men’s and women’s cross country teams placed third (out of 25 teams) and fifth (28 teams) at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wis.

Two penalty kick scores were the difference in the No. 15 women’s soccer team’s trip out west against Nos. 9 USC and 10 UCLA and the Buckeyes are now 10-3-4 heading into their final regular-season game Sunday against Penn State.



Makenna Webster scored with 29 seconds left to play to lift the No. 3 field hockey team (12-2, 3-2 Big Ten) to its first-ever win over Maryland on Friday, part of a 1-1 weekend for the Buckeyes.

Women’s volleyball (8-10, 1-7 B1G) hosted No. 3 Penn State and No. 2 Nebraska in back-to-back nationally televised matches (on BTN and NBC, respectively) and in the process set another attendance record: 4,156 fans in attendance at the Nebraska match.

The No. 11 women’s swimming and diving team and No. 12 men’s swimming and diving team earned dominant wins at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion to open the season: the women defeating Kentucky and Akron, and the men defeating Kentucky.
