The No. 4 women's hockey team defeated No. 2 Minnesota, 4-3, and tied them, 1-1, but won the shootout to improve to 5-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the WCHA. In the process, the team handed coach Nadine Muzerall her 200th victory.



No. 8 women's soccer went 1-1 last week, including a 4-2 win over Purdue that improved its records to 10-2-3 on the season and 5-1-2 in the Big Ten.



The No. 4 men's soccer team is now 9-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the Big Ten after splitting matches last week against Washington, a 2-0 win, and UCLA, a 2-1 defeat.

In a battle between No. 2 and No. 3, the football team dropped a 32-31 game to Oregon in a raucous Autzen Stadium and is now 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten.


The women's volleyball team went 1-1 last week with a win over Northwestern and a four-set loss to Michigan in a match at the Schottenstein Center that set an Ohio State and a state of Ohio volleyball record with 8,844 fans. Ohio State is 8-8 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten.

The No. 4 field hockey team (11-1 and 2-1 Big Ten) finished a two-win weekend with shutout victories over Penn State, 4-0, and Kent State, 3-0.



The men's hockey team (1-0-1) opened its season with a 5-2 win and a shootout tie against American International this weekend at Value City Arena.



The men's and women's golf programs teamed up for the Barbara Nicklaus Cup last week and hosted Florida, Clemson and Charlotte in the unique match play competition. The Buckeyes defeated Clemson, 3.5 to 2.5, on the final day.
