Wrapping up a busy week with Buckeye athletics...
Three wins in five days – over New Hampshire, Bucknell and UC Davis – has the field hockey team cruising with a 5-0 record.
The men's and women's cross country teams opened their respective seasons Friday with each winning the team title at the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic hosted by Wright State University. Addie Engel won the women's race and all five Buckeye counters for both the men and women placed in the Top 11.
The men's soccer team went 0-1-1 at the IU Classic in Bloomington, including a 1-1 draw against No. 22 Washington. The Buckeyes are no 0-2-2.
Women's volleyball is 3-2 on the season after hosting No. 11 and undefeated Georgia Tech in front of more than 6,000 fans for the two matches.
The women's soccer team recovered nicely from a Sunday match at Montana to defeat Oakland University on Thursday, 6-0. The win evened the team's record at 2-2-1.
The football team won its 23rd consecutive season-opening game with a 23-3 win at Indiana.
