Bouzakis Takes Gold at U20 Pan-Am in Chile

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nic Bouzakis, a redshirt freshman with the Buckeyes, competed for USA Wrestling at the U20 Pan-Am Wrestling Championships Saturday in Santiago, Chile, and came away with Gold after five impressive victories.
He was name the event's outstanding wrestler for his efforts.
Bouzakis competed in the freestyle 61kg weight class.
During the morning session, Bouzakis won three matches with a pin to open the competition and then by scores of 12-1 and 10-0 to advance to the semifinals, where he won a 10-0 bout for a spot in the evening finals.
He then won Gold with a 14-4 victory for the title at 61kg.
