COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's gymnastics head coach Meredith Paulicivic announced Monday the hiring of Mickayla Stuckey as an assistant coach. She will serve in both a coaching and operations role for the Buckeyes.
Stuckey is a 2023 graduate of Eastern Michigan where she was also a student-athlete on the Eagles' gymnastics team for the last four seasons. She competed in 40 meets on floor and beam during her collegiate career. She helped her team to a MAC championship in 2021 and was named co-captain and the Eastern Michigan Teammate of the Year award winner in 2023.
"I am so excited and blessed to be joining the Ohio State women's gymnastics staff," Stuckey said. "The heart and dedication this program has is inspiring and I am ready to be a part of it. I am looking forward to helping each student-athlete become the best version of themselves both in and out of the gym."
The Union City, Ind. native is a talented dancer and choreographer and choreographed all her routines during her time at Eastern Michigan. She will also utilize those skills in the same capacity at Ohio State.
"We are so excited to welcome Mickayla to our program," Coach Paulicivic said. "She is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable young coaches I have seen in a long time and is the perfect addition to our staff. We can't wait to see the impact she has on our program."
Stuckey is no stranger to the Buckeye coaching staff's style, having trained with associate head coach Luke Wasson as a young gymnast and worked at Ohio State summer camps in the past. In all, she brings eight years of coaching experience to Ohio State.
