
Buckeyes Finish Strong at Phillips 66 National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Members of the Ohio State swimming and diving program wrapped up the Phillips 66 National Championships on Saturday. The Buckeyes had a strong showing throughout the week, turning in six top-eight finishes. Additionally, Charlie Clark (1500 free) and Hunter Armstrong (100 back) both clinched spots on Team USA for the FINA World Championships in Japan July 14-30.
On Saturday night, Clark finished fourth in the 800 free A final. He swam a 7:51.65, which is just a little over a second shy of the school record of 7:50.07 he set last year. Mason Edmund also swam the 800 free, turning in a time of 8:07.77.
In the B final of the 50 free, Amy Fulmer placed fourth. She finished in a time of 25.01.
Daniel Baltes placed fifth in the B final of the 50 free with a time of 22.39. He swam a personal-best time of 22.36 in the prelims. Mario McDonald finished second in the 50 free C final with a time of 22.69. He swam a personal-best time of 22.55 in Saturday's prelims.
In the 1500 free, Gwen Woodbury finished in a time of 16:48.69 and Mia Rankin finished in 17:22.12.
