Wrapping up another busy week in Buckeye athletics …
One final congratulations to the men’s volleyball team, which won the MIVA regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the quarterfinals at the NCAA championships. Coach Kevin Burch’s team rode a 12-game winning streak at the end of the season to finish 23-10 overall.
The women’s golf team begins play today at the NCAA Athens (Ga.) Regional. The top five teams from each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 19-24.

The women’s tennis team (22-7) defeated Xavier and Vanderbilt in NCAA tournament matches over the weekend to advance to the Super Regionals for the fourth time under coach Melissa Schaub. The Buckeyes will play Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif. Calif. at 4 p.m. Friday.
Ty Tucker’s Men’s tennis team will host Arizona in the NCAA Super Regionals at noon Saturday after cruising to first- and second-round victories over East Tennessee State and Louisville over the weekend to improve to 31-2 on the season. Tucker has guided the Buckeyes to 17 consecutive Super Regionals.
A 6-4 come-from-behind victory over Nebraska on Sunday clinched the softball team’s series win and improved its record to 32-19 overall and 12-11 in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes will be the No. 6 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and face 11th-seeded Rutgers on Wednesday at 12 noon on BTN. The tournament is being held in Champaign, Ill.
The baseball Buckeyes closed out their series against Iowa with a 5-2 victory on Sunday. The team will now play eight consecutive home games to close out the regular season.
The men’s golf team has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament and will play at the Auburn Regional May 15-17. The top five teams at each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 26-31.
