COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Ohio State Buckeyes – OT Paris Johnson Jr., WR Kamryn Babb and LS Bradley Robinson – were among the over 1,700 student-athletes who were honored this week as members of the 2023 NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
The society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
A group of 1,734 players from 328 schools qualified for membership in 2023, setting a new record for the number of members in a single year during the program’s 17-year history.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either:
- A senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2022; or
- A graduated player, who has been out of high school at least (3) years;
And must have:
- Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and
- Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2022 season.
Johnson, a journalism major, graduated in three years at Ohio State and last fall was a first team All-America selection by four major organizations. He anchored an offensive line that was sixth nationally in fewest TFLs allowed (50; only 12 sacks allowed). Following the season, he declared for the NFL Draft and is expected to be chosen early in the first round.
Babb, a two-time captain from St. Louis, graduated with two degrees from Ohio State: an undergraduate in communications and master’s in kinesiology. He battled through injuries throughout his career but was one of the unquestioned leaders on the team. His return from injury and subsequent touchdown reception vs. Indiana in a game during mid-November drew national attention.
Robinson spent five years with Ohio State and seven years total as a college football player. Although his 2022 season was cut short due to injury, he was widely regarded as one of the nation’s top long snappers and in 2021 was a semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award. Robinson graduated with two bachelor’s degrees – in human nutrition science and human development and family science – and a master’s degree in exercise physiology.
