
Seven Wins and Four NCAA B Standard Times Cap Day One of Ohio State Winter Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The No. 5 women's swim team and the No. 8 men's swim team hosted the first day of the Ohio State Winter Invitational on Friday.
Men's Meet Notes
- Evan Fentress, Jack Burroughs, Jay Johnson and Brandon Day made up the winning team in the 200 free relay (1:19.60), including the three-fastest splits in the event.
- Tomas Navikonis (4:21.56) and Jonathan Edwards (4:22.59) finished first and second in the 500 free, each earning an NCAA B Standard Time.
- The Buckeyes again finished in the top-two spots in the 200 IM. Luke Paxton earned an NCAA B Standard Time (1:46.64) in the win, while Nathan Holty was the runner-up (1:47.23).
- Burroughs earned an individual win in the 50 free (19.90), which was also an NCAA B Standard Time.
- The Buckeye men capped the evening by finishing first and third in the 400 medley relay. Day, Rylan McDaniel, Paxton and Johnson won the event (3:13.66), while Thomas Watkins, Guilliermo Cepeda Balboa, Fentress and Burroughs were third (3:15.38).
Women's Meet Notes
- The 200 free relay squad earned the first victory of the evening with Mairin O'Brien, Mackenzie Dewitt, Kennady Kilger and Sydney Davids finishing in 1:32.54.
- O'Brien earned an individual win in the 50 free (22.95), while Dewitt finished third overall (23.11).
- In the 200 IM, Annie Krusinski finished third (2:02.54).
- Mia Lachey led the Buckeyes in the 500 free, finishing fourth (4:51.69). Ohio State had four make the A final.

- The Buckeyes continue the Ohio State Invitational on Saturday with the morning session beginning at 11 a.m. and the evening session beginning at 5 p.m.
