
Jaques, Maltais named to Hockey Canada Rivalry Series Roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey alumnae Sophie Jaques and Emma Maltais will play for Hockey Canada in the upcoming Rivalry Series between the United States and Canada. The series starts this weekend with game one on Wednesday in Arizona and game two Saturday in Los Angeles.
Jaques is one of three players set to make their debut with the Canadian National Women's Team. She was invited to national team camp the last two seasons. The Toronto, Ont. native recently signed a three-year contract with PWHL Boston after being selected 10th overall by Boston in the inaugural PWHL Draft.
Maltais is a two-time world champion with the Canadian senior women's national team and an Olympic gold medalist for Team Canada. This year's series marks her third playing for the national team. The Burlington, Ont. native was drafted by her hometown team, PWHL Toronto, in the 2023 PWHL Draft and also recently signed a three-year contract.
The duo will face off against current Buckeyes Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka, who will be playing for Team USA.
The Rivalry Series opens at Mullett Arena in Tempe on Nov. 8 at 9:30 p.m. ET, followed by a stop at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. ET. The teams will travel north of the border for a pair of games in Kitchener and Sarnia in December, while the final three games of the series will be played in Saskatoon, Regina and St. Paul, Minnesota, in February. The Rivalry Series will be televised on NHL Network in the United States and TSN and RDS in Canada.
