Buckeyes Earn Four Titles at Clarion Open

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State advanced seven wrestlers to the 2023 Clarion Open Finals in their respective weight classes Sunday and came away with four championships.

Senior All-American Dylan D'Emilio (149), redshirt sophomore Paddy Gallagher (157), true freshman Rocco Welsh (174) and redshirt freshman Nick Feldman (HWT) all brought home titles.

Sophomore Jesse Mendez and true freshman Brandon Cannon both advanced to the final at 141 but agreed to a no contest outcome. The pair wrestled one another in the Ohio State Wrestle Offs last week with Mendez winning that bout (D, 5-2).

Senior Isaac Wilcox (165) took second after dropping an 8-7 decision in the finals.

Ohio State will open the dual season Friday at No. 3 Virginia Tech (7 p.m.).
