COLUMBUS, Ohio – The WCHA's November players of the month include Buckeyes Joy Dunne and Hadley Hartmetz. Dunne is the league's Rookie of the Month and Hartmetz earns the Defender of the Month title.
Â
Dunne earned her first player of the month award after scoring a league-best tying six goals in November. She added two assists to tie for the most points (8) in the conference this month. The O'Fallon, Mo. recorded her first career hat trick, and her first career goals, in the team's 9-1 win over Bemidji State on Nov. 3. Her four points in that game were a single-game high for a WCHA player in November. She also added a goal in each game against St. Lawrence to help the Buckeyes to their ninth win over a top-10 team this season. Â
Â
Hartmetz led league defensemen with seven points and all league players with seven assists. She finished the month +11 and led the team with nine blocked shots through six games. The graduate student blocked four shots in the Buckeyes' 2-1 overtime win over then-ranked No. 1 Wisconsin to secure the sweep of the Badgers. She also added an assist on the overtime game-winning goal. Hartmetz and the Buckeye blue line held opponents to under 15 shots per game and only allowed three goals in six games.
