COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

Cam Thiesing | Men's Hockey | Junior | Nashville, Tenn.
- Thiesing shared the Buckeye lead with five points as Ohio State swept Princeton last weekend.
- Friday, he had a goal and two assists for his third career three-point outing and his third game with two assists, helping Ohio State to a 6-3 win.
- In a 4-3 victory Saturday, he had a goal and an assist for his 10th career two-point night.
- Thiesing and the Buckeyes are back in Big Ten action this weekend at Wisconsin. The squad closes the first part of its schedule at home vs. Minnesota Dec. 8-9.
Sarah Sue Morbitzer | Women's Volleyball | Sr. | Groveport, Ohio
- Senior libero Sarah Sue Morbitzer wrapped up her Buckeye career this past weekend on a high note, averaging 5.14 digs/set and 0.57 assists per set through two matches.
- On Saturday's senior night, Morbitzer recorded a career-high 24 digs in just four sets, adding a pair of assists. She totaled 12 digs and a pair of assists in three sets against No. 14 Penn State on Friday night.
- Morbitzer is the first 'little spiker' (youth camper) to earn a spot on the Buckeyes' roster and completes her collegiate career with 498 digs (2.02/set), 85 assists and 45 aces.
Taylor Thierry | Women's Basketball | Jr. | Cleveland, Ohio
- Junior guard/forward Taylor Thierry averaged 14.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists through two wins last week, also shooting 11-of-22 (.500) from the floor. She was named to the Big Ten Honor Roll on Monday.
- On Wednesday against Oklahoma State, Thierry earned the first double-double for the Buckeyes this season with 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds (including nine offensive rebounds). She added an assist and a steal.
- She wrapped up the week with 13 points, six rebounds and matched her season-high four assists and two steals in a dominating win against Cornell on Sunday despite playing only 20 minutes.
- Thierry has scored in double figures in every game this season as she's averaging 14.8 ppg and leads the team in rebounding (7.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (.674).
- Bruce led the Buckeyes to a championship at the Emerald Coast Classic over the weekend and was named the tournament's MVP.
- He averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals over the two games.
- He scored a career-high 29 points in the win over No. 17 Alabama in the semifinals and then dished-out a career-high seven assists in the championship game against Santa Clara.
- Since 2000, Thornton is just the third Buckeye freshman or sophomore to score 29 or more points against a ranked team.
- Webster tallied a team-high tying three goals and four points in the Buckeyes' sweep of then-ranked No. 6 St. Lawrence.
- She scored two goals and added an assist in the team's 11-0 win last Friday to help the team record a program-record goals scored in a game.
- Her four points last weekend were her first of the 2023-24 season since rejoining the team full-time after playing the fall season with the field hockey team.
