Thierry Named to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

The junior averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last week and earned the Buckeyes’ first double-double of the season.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday. Junior guard/forward Taylor Thierry was named to the Big Ten Honor Roll, the first weekly award by a Buckeye this season and the third weekly honor roll appearance of her career.
Thierry averaged 14.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game through a perfect 3-0 week as she played only 27.7 minutes per game. Thierry also shot 57.1 percent from the floor last week. She began the week with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, a then season-high eight rebounds and season-highs in assists (4), steals (2) and blocks (1) in a win against East Carolina. Thierry earned her first double-double of the season with 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds (including nine offensive rebounds) in a win over Oklahoma State. She wrapped up the week with 13 points, six rebounds and matched her season-high four assists and two steals in a dominating win against Cornell on Sunday despite playing only 20 minutes. Thierry has scored in double figures in every game this season as she's averaging 14.8 ppg and leads the team in rebounding (7.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (.674).
