COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

Luke Geog | Wrestling | R-Fr. | Upper Arlington, Ohio
- Luke Geog earned a pair of technical fall victories Sunday in wins at Columbia and later Hofstra in New York.
- He won his first match of the day 17-2 vs. the Lions in the 49-0 Ohio State victory.
- Geog then took out Nicolas Miller at Hofstra, 18-1, to help complete the sweep in a 51-0 Ohio State shutout.
- The No. 6 Buckeyes improved to 4-0 on the year with three-consecutive shutouts and 33-consecutive individual wins.
Hadley Hartmetz | Women's Hockey | Gr. | Phoenixville, Pa.
- Hadley Hartmetz led the Buckeyes with three assists, good for second on the team in points, in last weekend's sweep of then-ranked No. 1 Wisconsin. She assisted both game-winning goals for the Buckeyes.
- Hartmetz helped the Buckeye blue line hold Wisconsin, who was averaging over six goals per game, to just one goal on the weekend.
- She and the Buckeyes allowed just 41 shots on goal in the series to the Badgers, who were averaging over 45 shots on goal per game entering the matchup. Hartmetz added a team-high tying four blocked shots on the weekend.
- With the wins over Wisconsin, Ohio State improved to 10-0-0 in conference play and has been voted the No. 1 team in the nation.
- Paige Hollowell helped the rifle team conclude the first half of its schedule last weekend at UTEP where it posted scores of 4702 and 4712 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
- Hollowell – along with teammate Viktor Kiss – had an aggregate score of 1180 on Saturday to lead the Buckeyes. Her best event was the air rifle where she had a score of 594.
- As a team, the Buckeyes finished the fall portion of their 2023-24 schedule with the highest three-score average in program history and have seven consecutive scores over 4700 (the most prior to this season was five).
- Additionally, Viktor Kiss set the program record for aggregate score earlier this fall at 1187.
Tristan Jankovics | Men's Swimming & Diving | So. | Guelph, Ontario
- Tristan Jankovics had a great weekend for the Buckeyes at the Ohio State Fall Invitational, breaking two program records and recording multiple NCAA standard times.
- On Thursday's long-course prelims, Jankovics set a new school record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.05. He went on to win the event in the short-course finals with an NCAA B cut time of 1:42.76.
- On day two, Jankovics won the 400 IM with a time of 3:40.89, which is a program record and an NCAA B standard.
- Jankovics placed fifth in the 200 back, touching the wall at 1:43.62, which is an NCAA B cut time.
Emily Londot | Women's Volleyball | Sr. | Utica, Ohio
- Emily Londot hit big milestones this past week as she led the Buckeye starters with 4.88 kills/set and 2.63 digs/set.
- In Wednesday's match at Illinois, Londot became just the second Big Ten player to record 30 kills in a match this season, reaching that 30-kill total for the first time in her career. She added a team-high 13 digs for her 13th double-double of the season and broke into the top-20 in single-season program records for kills.
- On Saturday at Minnesota, Londot broke into the top-20 in career digs as she now has 947 and moved into the top-five in career points (1,883.5). She now ranks 17th among single-season program records with 495 kills this season and led the Big Ten in kill/set and points/set after Saturday's match.
Krista Marlin | Women's Swimming & Diving | So. | Exton, Pa.
- Krista Marlin was instrumental in the Buckeyes' first-place finish at the Ohio State Fall Invitational last week.
- Marlin set a program record in the 200 back during long-course prelims with a time of 2:10.49, which is also an Olympic Trials qualifying time. She went on to win the event in the short-course finals with an NCAA B standard time of 1:52.49.
- She finished second in the 400 IM, finishing in an NCAA B cut time of 4:09.82.
- Marlin placed seventh in the A final of the 200 IM with an NCAA B standard time of 1:59.49. During the morning's long-course prelims, she swam the 200 IM in 2:15.31, which is an Olympic Trials qualifying time.
Yeva Mazur | Women's Fencing | Jr. | Khmelnitsky, Ukraine
- Mazur posted nine wins, with just four losses, to help the women's epee squad to a 4-2 record in the Elite Invitational Sunday in Columbus.
- The two-time All-American was a perfect 3-0 in the Buckeyes' win over Notre Dame and posted 2-1 marks against Princeton, Air Force and Penn.
- No. 5t-ranked Ohio State picked up team victories against No. 7 UPenn and No. 15 Air Force in the event.
- The Buckeyes will return to action in January with dual matches at St. John's and UPenn. The CCFC and NCAA championships will be held in Columbus Feb. 24-25 and March 21-24, respectively.
Jacy Sheldon | Women's Basketball | Gr. | Dublin, Ohio
- Jacy Sheldon led the Buckeyes to a pair of wins this past week and became the 17th player in program history to score 1,500 career points in the Nov. 16 win over Boston College.
- Sheldon averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 27.3 minutes per game last week, shooting 14-of-20 (.700) from the floor and 6-of-8 (.750) from long range.
- Sheldon notched her second 20-point performance of the four-game season in the 79-55 win over ECU on Monday, adding five rebounds and two assists. She shot 7-of-10 (.700) from the floor and 4-of-5 (.800) from behind the arc. Sheldon was also 7-of-10 from the floor in the 88-66 win over Boston College last Thursday, adding a pair of triples, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Paul Veltrup | Men's Fencing | Jr. | Grefrath, Germany
- Paul Veltrup led the No. 4-ranked Buckeye men to a 4-2 record in the Elite Invitational Sunday in Columbus.
- The epeeist had a team-high 11 victories, dropping just four bouts, on the day. He competed in five of the Buckeyes' six matches and was 3-0 v. Penn, with 2-1 marks vs. Princeton, Air Force, Duke and Notre Dame. Veltrup and the epee squad were 4-2 in the event.
- Veltrup, the runner-up at the 2023 NCAA Championships, and the Buckeyes will return to action in January. Ohio State will host the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships Feb. 24-25 and the NCAA Championships March 21-24.
