On if he would have trusted himself to make the throw on the TD pass to Cade Stover earlier in the season
“I would like to say so, but at the same time, I think that is just all the reps that Cade and I have gotten in. I think especially in the past 10, 11 weeks together, I think he knew exactly where I was going to put it and I knew that he was going to trust it and I think that’s just chemistry.”
On if he thinks he is hitting his stride
“Yeah. All the reps that we put in I think allows you to go out there and have confidence, play with anticipation and play with timing. I feel like the receivers trust where I am going to put the ball.”
On playing multiple positions
“I've always been familiar with all three spots. Last year and during the season, even though I wasn't playing, I was still learning all three and playing all three in practice. So it really gave me a great understanding of the defense and I'm still able to process and execute each position.”
On the team's mentality over the next few weeks
“We know what it felt like to come up short last year and I think we've made a big emphasis on not leaving anything on the field.”
On the third-year players on Ohio State's roster
“They prepare at a high level and they've already had a huge impact on our team. So that, combined with fourth and fifth year guys just makes for a team that has a lot of experience. They come to work every day and they push each other. There's a lot of consistency there and they're determined to reach our goals.”
On injuries and moving forward
“I feel good, I feel like we're going to be at just about maximum capacity here. There'll be a couple of guys that we've lost but, coming down the home stretch, I feel good about it.”
On Sonny Styles
“I'm with him day in and day out. I'm in the classroom with him. I know what he does as far as his preparation, know the conversations that we have, and just being able to truly, truly understand what we're expecting of him and understand the scheme."
On Josh Proctor having his best season as a sixth-year player
“It was never an ability thing with [Josh]. It was just more of a mindset thing, and for him just being able to really lock in and focus and be a pro each and every day and take care of his business."
On him and Donovan Jackson helping the younger guys
“We’ve grown together as a group. We all learn together, watch film, and help the younger guys.”
On the biggest lesson he’s learned at Ohio State
“Everybody’s obstacle is different, It’s just about how you respond and how you take it in. That’s the mindset I’ve grown with for the past six years.”
On his time playing at Ohio Stadium
“It's really special. To look up there and see your family in the stands, run out with the boys you've been through a lot with knowing that these times are coming to an end quickly, you're just trying to make the most of them."
On Kyle McCord's throw to him last week vs. Michigan State
“I mean, nothing I don't see every day with him. That's a super, super special player and I think you're just beginning to see how good this kid really is.”
On his mindset on the field
“That’s a great question. The Mario theme song, like whenever he gets like that superstar and turns gold.”
On the run defense
“You've just got to trust the guy next to you that he's going to be in his gap. Everyone does their job and someone's going to end up making the tackle.”
On being there for each other through mistakes
"It's that trust that we have with one another. We trust that someone's going to be there and even if someone messes up that you've got a guy behind you that's gonna help you out."
