
McMahon Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week For Fourth-Consecutive Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday. Freshman forward Cotie McMahon was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the fourth-consecutive week after the Buckeyes’ wins at Northwestern and against No. 14/19 Michigan.
McMahon led the Buckeyes last week as OSU improved to 15-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play by averaging 18.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 62.5 percent from the field. She began the week with her fifth 20-point game of the season, posting 24 points at Northwestern on 10-of-15 (.667) shooting from the floor. McMahon added four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Against the Wolverines, McMahon had 12 points, three steals and three rebounds while shooting 5-of-9 (.555). McMahon was the first to reach double figures in both games and has eight such games on the season. She’s averaging 12.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 assists per game this season as a freshman starter.
