COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State is back home this Sunday to host No. 18 Texas A&M in a key early season matchup. The Buckeyes have opened the season 3-1-0 while Texas A&M comes to town undefeated at 4-0-1. It will be Parents Day at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium as the players’ parents will be recognized prior to the game.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women’s soccer matches.
- Ohio State and Texas A&M will be meeting for just the third time overall and the first time in Columbus. The Aggies won 2-1 in College Station in 1999 and then again in College Station 1-0 in 2019.
- The Buckeyes went 2-0 on their season-opening road trip and bounced-back from a setback last week against nationally ranked BYU with a solid 4-0 victory on Thursday night at Dayton. Peyton McNamara and Emma Sears each tallied two goals in the win.
- Texas A&M opened the year with a scoreless draw against Clemson and then outscored McNeese, Sam Houston and New Mexico State by a combined score of 16-1 in three victories. The Aggies started this road trip at Illinois on Thursday night. MaKhiya McDonald scored in the 13th minute and A&M made the 1-0 lead hold the rest of the way.
- Graduate transfer Olivia Sensky notched her first points as a Buckeye in the win at Dayton when she assisted on the first two goals.
- Emma Sears is tied for the Big Ten lead in goals with three and fourth in total points with seven. The Dublin, Ohio native has 16 goals in her career.
- Graduate Maddy Lowe scored her first goal in nearly three years when she netted the game-winner in the 80th minute at Missouri. Her last goal came on Oct. 17, 2019 vs. Northwestern.
- Ohio State head coach Lori Walker-Hock is in her 26th season leading the program. She is 274-189-54 as the Buckeyes’ head coach and has won a pair of Big Ten regular season titles.
- Seniors Talani Barnett and Kayla Fischer as well as sophomore Sydney Jones were all named Big Ten Women’s Soccer Players to Watch this fall.
- Barnett, Fischer, Lowe and Emaly Vatne were all selected to captain the 2022 team.
