COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State finished 14th Tuesday at the 2022 Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge following 54-holes at the three-day event. The tournament was played at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, California. Ohio State hosted for the 26th season.
With a team-best four birdies, Kailie Vongsaga shot the best round of the day for the Buckeyes with an even-par 71. She finished tied for the No. 52 spot in the individual standings at +13 (226). She moved up 17 spots in the standings over the final round.
Jillian Bourdage placed the highest for Ohio State individually at +9 (222/T38).
The elite field consisted of 10 teams ranked among the Top 20 nationally. No. 2 Oregon won the team title at 4-under 848.
Individually, Rachel Kuehn of Wake Forest led wire-to-wire shooting three rounds under par to win the event at 10-under 203. As the event winner, she will receive a Northrop Grumman Challenge Champion/sponsor exemption for the JTBC Championship at Palos Verdes LPGA event next month.
The Buckeyes are back on the course at the Ironwood Invitational April 4-5 at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.
