Ohio State Earns 4-1-1 Win Over Badgers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 2 seed Ohio State finished the 2022 Big Ten Match Play event with a 4-1-1 win over No. 4 Wisconsin to claim third-place Tuesday. The Buckeyes were 2-1 over the two-day tournament.
Ohio State won its quarterfinal match in Palm Harbor, Florida, Monday over No. 7 Minnesota (5-1) to advance to the semifinals, where the Buckeyes fell to No. 3 Northwestern (3-2-1).
Jillian Bourdage and Aneka Seumanutafa each went 3-0 in the event for the Buckeyes.
Against the Golden Gophers, the Buckeyes got 1up wins from Seumanutafa and Alexis Phadungmartvorakul, along with victories by Bourdage (4&3), Lauren Peter (3&2) and Faith Choi (2&1).
Bourdage and Seumanutafa were both leading their matches against Northwestern when play was called Monday afternoon (darkness).
Other wins vs. the Badgers came from Faith Choi and Peters. Kristin Jamieson earned a tie.
The event was played at the Island Course at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Florida.
The Buckeyes resume the spring schedule Feb. 6-8 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
