COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior forward Kayla Fischer has been named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Buckeyes to a pair of victories last week.
Fischer registered six points (two goals and two assists) last week in victories over No. 18 UCF on Thursday and Navy on Sunday. She posted her second five-point outing of the season with two goals and an assist in the victory over UCF, netting the opening goal in the third minute and the clinching score in the 87th minute. She was also credited with the primary assist on OSU’s opening goal in second minute of Sunday’s victory over Navy.
This is the second time she has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in her career. She also earned the award on Aug. 28, 2018, as a freshman.
The Buckeyes are 4-2-0 on the season and will head to Dayton this Thursday and then host No. 6 TCU on Sunday.
