
McNamara Headed to Camp With Jamaican National Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio –Peyton McNamara, the 2021 Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year, will train with the Jamaican National Women’s Soccer Team starting Friday in Houston.
The Jamaican team will face both the U.S. Women’s National Team and Nigerian National Team in friendlies.
During the 2021 Spring campaign, McNamara appeared in all 14 Ohio State games for Lori Walker-Hock, now in her 25th season as head coach of the Buckeyes.
With six goals and three assists, McNamara was second in goals and points (15) for the Buckeyes. She was credited with a pair of game-winning goals and was third in shots (25).
Joining McNamara at camp with the Jamaican squad is former Buckeye Tiffany Cameron, who has been with the Jamaican National Team since 2019. She lettered with the Buckeyes from 2009-12.
Cameron played for the Hungarian club Ferencvarosi Torna, which won the Hungarian Cup this year.
Cameron, a 2012 second team United Soccer Coaches All-American, owns Ohio State records with 40 career goals and 96 career points and with 21 goals and 47 points in 2012.
McNamara helped the Buckeyes to an 8-3-3 record this spring. Ohio State advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. After a second-place finish in the 2021 Big Ten regular-season race, Buckeyes defeated Stony Brook (5-1) in the opening round of the 2021 (Spring) NCAA Tournament before a loss to eventual national champion Santa Clara.
