
Buckeyes Fall 1-0 to Rutgers Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 22 Ohio State (7-2-3) fell to visiting Rutgers (8-2-3) 1-0 in the Big Ten Regional Weekend Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
The game was scoreless until the 80th minute when Rutgers benefited from a corner kick that crossed the Buckeyes' goal line off an Ohio State player giving the Scarlet Knights the win on an OSU own goal.
The teams finished the first half scoreless. Both teams managed four shots with the Scarlet Knights owning a 2-1 edge in shots on goal. For the game, Rutgers led in shots 8-5 and 3-1 in shots on net. Rutgers also held a 4-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Ohio State will now wait to see if it is selected for the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The 2021 NCAA Tournament Selection Show will be held April 19. The entire 48-team NCAA Tournament will be held in Cary, North Carolina, and the surrounding arena.
The women's national semifinals will be May 13. The national champion will be crowned May 17.
