
No. 4 Ohio State Scores Season High at No. 3 Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 4 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team came up short to No. 3 Nebraska on Saturday, 411.100-406.700, at Bob Devaney Sports Center. It was the highest overall score for the Buckeyes this year.
The Buckeyes posted season highs on pommel horse (67.050), floor (69.000), rings (68.350) and high bar (64.650). As a team, Ohio State secured a title on rings and had 10 podium finishes.
Individually, Justin Ah Chow won the floor title with a career-high 14.650 while Donovan Hewitt scored a 14.100, a new personal best, to claim the crown on rings. Jesse Tyndall posted a season-high 14.150 to win on high bar.
The Buckeyes started the meet on pommel horse, where Ah Chow received a score of 13.750 to come in third. Nebraska’s Cooper Giles won the event behind a 14.400.
The team moved to floor for the second rotation. Ah Chow’s 14.650 put him on top of the podium. Jesse Tyndall had the next highest score for the Buckeyes with a 14.050, which was fourth.
Ohio State made its way to vault and scored a 70.150. Hewitt put up a career-high 14.600 to tie for third place.
The fourth rotation happened on rings, where the Buckeyes swept the podium. Hewitt’s 14.100 secured first place. Max Andryushchenko finished second with a season-best 13.900. Josh Seltzer tied with the Huskers’ Taylor Christopulos for third place as they both scored 13.800s.
Ohio State headed to high bar next. Tyndall earned first place with a score of 14.150. Andryushchenko posted a season-high 13.700 to tie with Nebraska’s Dillan King for third.
The meet concluded for the Buckeyes with a 67.500 on parallel bars. Tyndall another appearance on the podium, coming in second after scoring a 14.100. Sean Neighbarger recorded a 13.800, which was good enough for third.
Tyndall posted a score of 80.550 to win the all-around title over Nebraska’s Christopulos, who had a 79.200.
Ohio State hosts Iowa on Saturday, March 13 at 1 p.m.
