COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State women’s soccer team (2-0-1 BIG) earned its second-consecutive win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Maryland (0-3-1 B1G) Thursday at Ludwig Field in College Park.

Lori Walker-Hock, head coach of the Buckeyes, credited the team’s depth in the win.

“It was a solid team effort today,” Walker-Hock said. “The depth of our bench was extremely helpful. Our young players are really growing into the pace of the Big Ten.”

The Buckeyes scored first on a goal by freshman Peyton McNamara, the first collegiate score for the Norwalk, Conn., native. The score came in the 7^th minute unassisted.

Maryland tied the game in the 26^th minute but McNamara answered with her second goal of the game in the 31^st minute for a 2-1 Ohio State lead.

Another Ohio State freshman, Kine Flotre, a native of Fjellhamar, Norway, scored off an Ohio State corner kick in the 58^th minute for the 3-1 advantage.

Senior keeper Bailey Kolinsky (Derry, N.H.) benefited from a solid Ohio State defensive effort. Maryland took 11 shots with just two on goal.

The Buckeyes improved to 6-0-2 all-time against the Terps.

Ohio State will remain on the road, heading to Rutgers for an 11 a.m. game Sunday in Piscataway.
