After falling behind 1-0, the Buckeyes scored twice in less than two minutes to win 2-1 at Illinois the last time out. Kayla Fischer and Izzy Rodriguez scored in the win for the Buckeyes.
Kayla Fischer netted a pair of goals in Ohio State’s 2-all tie with Penn State with two assists from Marissa Birzon and one from freshman Peyton McNamara. Fischer’s goal at Purdue helped the Buckeyes to a double overtime tie with the Boilers as well (1-1).
Seniors Izzy Rodriquez and Marissa Birzon were named 2021 captains March 9. The pair have played a combined 123 games for the Buckeyes over the last four years.
Sophomore Emma Sears was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Big Ten March 2 after she netted three goals in the home win over Wisconsin (Feb. 25). Sears scored the first four goals for the Buckeyes this season.
