
Ohio State To Face Minnesota Duluth in WCHA Final Faceoff

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State’s women’s hockey team will defend its WCHA Final Faceoff title this weekend as the No. 3 seed. The Buckeyes are set to face second-seeded Minnesota Duluth in one of two semifinal games next Saturday, March 6, at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. Ohio State will be making its fourth straight Final Faceoff appearance for the first time in program history.
The Buckeyes and Bulldogs split their only series of the season on Jan. 15-16 in Duluth. The home-standing Bulldogs took the series opener, 2-0, before Ohio State rebounded the following day with a shutout of its own, winning 1-0.
No. 1 seeded Wisconsin, who Ohio State defeated twice during the regular season, takes on fourth-seeded Minnesota in the first semifinal of the day next Saturday at 2:07 p.m. ET. The championship game is set for Sunday, March 7 at 3:07 p.m. ET with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Ohio State has faced the other three Final Faceoff participants a total of 12 times this year. The Buckeyes are 2-2 this year against Wisconsin, earning wins over the Badgers on Nov. 27 and Jan. 9. They’ve played Minnesota six times and are 4-2 in those games. Ohio State split a pair of games against Minnesota Duluth Jan. 15-16.
Attendance at the 2021 Final Faceoff will be limited to team guests only. No tickets will be available for public sale. All games will stream live on FloHockey.tv.
