
Buckeyes Fourth After Rd 1 of FSU Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Ohio State opened the FSU Match Up in Tallahassee Friday much the same way it opened the Gators Invitational last weekend. The Buckeyes are currently in a tie for fourth after a round of 300.
Four Buckeyes are in the Top 30, led by Lauren Peter who carded a 1-over 73. The Carmel, N.Y. native made a pair of birdies to go along with an eagle at the par-5 11th. Peter has now carded rounds of 71, 70 and 73 in her three opening rounds this season.
Aneka Seumanutafa, the reigning Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, also made an eagle in her round on Friday, making a three at the par-5 fourth. She finished with a round of 73. As a team, the Buckeyes played the 505-yard, par-5 fourth in 6-under par.
Freshman Kailie Vongsaga and sophomore Skylar Thompson each posted rounds of 4-over 76 while Kristin Jamieson came in with an 80.
The Buckeyes are tied with rival Michigan, just one shot ahead of two other teams. Host Florida State jumped out to the early lead at 6-under par.
Ohio State will again be paired with Michigan and Minnesota for the second round. The trio begins on the 10th hole at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
