COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s basketball team opens the 2021-22 regular season on Wednesday inside Value City Arena at 7 p.m. as Bucknell comes to town. The game will be broadcast live on B1G+ and AM 1460.
Tickets for the 2021-22 season in Value City Arena in the Schottenstein Center are now available. Fans can purchase season tickets and mini plans, single-game tickets and group tickets. All group tickets must be bought in advance by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS and then selecting option two. Fans with ticketing questions should call the Ohio State Ticket Office at 1-800-GO-BUCKS or email athletic.tix@osu.edu.
- Ohio State was selected 17th in the Associated Press preseason poll and 25th in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches preseason poll.
- The Buckeyes were picked fifth in the Big Ten preseason poll on both the coach and media rankings.
- Ohio State finished the 2020-21 season with a 13-7 overall record and a 9-7 mark in conference play.
- The Buckeyes won nine of their first 10 games in 2020-21 and finished seventh in the Big Ten.
- Bucknell was 9-1 overall in 2020-21 and was a perfect 8-0 in Patriot League games to earn the opportunity to host the conference tournament.
- The Bison cruised to a 65-50 win in the quarterfinals against Loyola before falling to Lehigh in the semifinals by a 63-54 margin.
- Bucknell returns the leading scorer from the 2020-21 season in senior guard Taylor O’Brien, who averaged 16.3 ppg and 6.1 rpg last season, but lost its other two double-figure scorers and leading rebounder.
- The Bison added three freshmen to the ranks during the offseason in guard Ceculia Collins and forward/guards Remi Sisselman and Isabella King.
- This is the first meeting in program history between Ohio State and Bucknell.
