COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State continues its opening week homestand with a game against Niagara on Friday night at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed online on B1G+. The Buckeyes started the season with a win on Tuesday night vs. Akron while Niagara fell at Xavier 63-60 on Tuesday.

- This will be the first meeting all-time between the two programs. Ohio State is 4-3 all-time against the Metro Atlantic Conference.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a thrilling 67-66 victory on opening night against a very good Akron team. Zed Key had a lay-in with less than a second to play to give the Buckeyes a one-point win.
- J. Liddell had a tremendous game, notching his fifth-career double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. The 25 points was one-off his career high. He also had a game-high three blocks.
- Key’s last-second lay-in gave him 14 points on the night which matched his career-high.
- Niagara opened the season with a narrow 63-60 setback at Xavier on Tuesday night. Marcus Hammond was 4-of-10 from long range and led the Purple Eagles with 25 points.
- Ohio State is one of three Power 5 teams to have won 20 or more games in each of the last three seasons.
- The Buckeyes will be led this year by four team captains in senior Justin Ahrens, junior E.J. Liddell, senior Justice Sueing and graduate Kyle Young.
- Liddell was one of five unanimous selections on the preseason All-Big Ten Team. He was also named to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Preseason Watch List as well as the NABC Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Liddell is coming off a season that saw him earn first team All-Big Ten honors as he was second on the team in scoring at 16.2 ppg and led the team with 6.7 rebounds per game.
- The Buckeyes will have six student-athletes on the roster who have already earned their undergraduate degrees. That is tied for the most in the country.
- Ohio State features a veteran team with a load of collegiate experience. The 15 players on the roster combined to play in 1,001 collegiate games entering the season. That is the most combined games of any team in the country.
- Head coach Chris Holtmann is in his fifth season with the program. He has an 88-44 record at Ohio State and an overall coaching record of 202-129. His teams have won 20 or more games in each of the last eight seasons.
