Quotebook: Week 6 vs. Maryland

Thayer Munford
On his mindset:
“When I was injured before, during camp, I didn’t always have a great attitude or a great mindset. I always felt like the world was ending, my career was over. But really it’s just a short time frame, you move on it, recover, and have a great mindset. I had little doubts, but at the same time I’m one of the leaders on the team, and I can’t have people on the team see me down, when I’m actually going to be ok. People see me being down, everyone is going to be down. Me and Zach Harrison always have the energy, always try to bring people along, and CJ Stroud, and Chris Olave, we just try to make sure people are alright.”
Game Preview: Maryland vs. #7 Ohio State
Ohio State will host the Maryland Terrapins in a 12:05 p.m. kickoff at Ohio Stadium in the 99th Homecoming game in school history. Ohio State is 73-19-5 in Homecoming games.
The two Big Ten East Division rivals did not play as scheduled in College Park, Md., in 2020. The game was one of three Ohio State games that was cancelled the week of the game because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stroud Claims Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honors
Following a performance on Saturday that included 330 yards passing and a career-high five touchdowns, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud is this week’s Big Ten Freshman of the Week. This is the fifth consecutive week that a Buckeye has claimed the conference’s award.
Stroud guided a Buckeye offense finished with 541 total yards and scored on each of its first seven possessions. A redshirt freshman from Empire, Calif., Stroud completed 17 of 23 passes and had four first-half touchdowns as the Buckeyes built a 45-6 halftime lead.
Team Unveils Scarlet Color Rush for Penn State Game
The Ohio State University football team will debut an all-scarlet uniform Oct. 30, when it hosts Penn State University in a key Big Ten Conference East Division encounter at Ohio Stadium.
All-scarlet means a color rush of all-scarlet: jersey, pants, socks, base layers, gloves and spikes will be scarlet with the traditional striping pattern on the shoulders and down the side of the legs.
