
Big Ten Names Wootton Offensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Laurence Wootton, a sophomore captain, was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal and assisting on another in Ohio State’s 2-1 win over Penn State last Friday.
Ranked as the No. 21 player nationally by TopDrawerSoccer last week (Top 25 men’s soccer), Wootton leads the Buckeyes with 12 points and five goals on the season.
Prior to the start of the 2021 fall season, Wootton was named as a player to watch by the Big Ten Conference coaches.
He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and was a member of the Big Ten All-Freshman team following the 2021 spring season.
The Buckeyes are back in action at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday) vs. Michigan in Columbus. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
