COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team will take its first road trip of the season when it heads to Michigan State for a Sunday-Monday series. Both matches will start at 4 p.m., with Monday’s contest airing live on the Big Ten Network.

LAST TIME OUT
The Buckeyes kicked off the 2021 spring campaign with a pair of five-set victories over Maryland last weekend. Ohio State had four players record double-digit kills in both matches as the team averaged 13.40 kills per set. Freshman Emily Londot had 3.30 kills/set and earned career highs in kills (17) and digs (11) in the second matchup. Sophomore Mac Podraza handed out 51 assists in both outings.
SCOUTING MSU
Michigan State got its season going with two straight-set losses to No. 7 Minnesota. The Spartans come into the weekend averaging 13.83 digs/set, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten.
HISTORY WITH THE SPARTANS
Ohio State has a 47-34 lead in its all-time series with Michigan State, dating back to 1974. The Buckeyes trail 20-18 when making the trip to East Lansing. The Spartans secured a 3-0 win last season when they visited the Buckeyes in Columbus.

Ohio State welcomed first-year head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg in stellar fashion with thrilling triumphs over Maryland to give the former Buckeye her first wins at the helm. It had been more than 370 days since she had been hired as the sixth head coach in program history before the Buckeyes took the court.
BIG TEN RANKINGS
The Buckeyes currently sit at No. 2 in the Big Ten behind 14.60 digs/set and 2.20 aces/set. The team is averaging 11.80 assists and 13.40 kills, which ranks third and fourth, respectively. Individually, Adria Powell is hitting .406 to stand sixth while Podraza’s 10.20 assists/set ranks second. Kylie Murr has 4.00 digs/set to come in fifth.
