Three Buckeyes Named NFF Hampshire Honor Society Members

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today the members of the 2020 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. The Buckeye honorees were safety Jordan Fuller, long snapper Liam McCullough and quarterback Chris Chugunov.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have completed their final year of playing in 2019, achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and met all NCAA mandated progress towards degree completion.
Fuller, from Old Tappan, N.J., has earned virtually every academic award possible. This season, he was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the nation’s absolute best football scholar-athlete. He’s also a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, OSU Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten. On the field, Fuller earned first team All-Big Ten honors in 2019 after finishing third on the team with 62 tackles. Fuller in majoring in business marketing.
McCullough was the Buckeyes’ long snapper for four years (2016-19), appearing in 54 of the last 55 games. He graduated in May of 2019 with his degree in finance and twice was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar (3.70 or better grade-point average for an academic year). He completed an internship in the summer of 2017 with Goldman Sachs in New York City.
Chugunov came to Ohio State is August of 2018 after graduating from West Virginia University with his degree in finance. He appeared in 10 games last season, completing 26 of 43 passes for 286 yards and six touchdowns. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Chugunov is working towards his master’s degree in sports management.
As the society celebrates its 14th year, the initiative has previously honored 10,695 student-athletes since its inception.
