
Buckeyes Drop to No. 13 Stanford in Palo Alto

Palo Alto, Calif. – The Buckeyes capped off their two-legged road trip against the No. 13 ranked Stanford Cardinals. After a late momentum shift from the Pac-12 opponent, the Buckeyes tallied their third loss on the season.
In doubles, the Buckeyes seized a vital double point due to an early 6-1 victory from Kyle Seelig and Cannon Kingsley. No. 3 ranked John McNally and Robert Cash clinched the 1-0 lead after winning the set tiebreaker over No. 14 ranked Axel Geller and Neel Rajesh 7-6(2).
No. 29 Kyle Seelig vaulted the Buckeyes to a 2-0 match lead by defeating No. 69 Sangeet Sridhar 6-4, 6-2. No. 13 John McNally fell to No.37 Axel Geller 5-7, 1-6 resulting in the first match point for Stanford. Cannon Kingsley posted another top-10 win on the season defeating No. 7 Alexandre Rotsaert giving the Buckeyes a 3-1 lead. The Cardinals then rallied on three consecutive courts (4,6,5) to erase a 3-1 deficit to win the match 4-3.
Ohio State returns to the OSU Varsity Tennis Center on Sunday Mar. 8 to host Penn State to open Big Ten conference play.
