
Meet the Freshmen – Ryan Snowden

With the season closing in, get to know the Buckeye hockey newcomers.
The series continues with No. 30 Ryan Snowden, a goalie from Lincoln University, Pa. He came to Ohio State after two years in the USHL, including 28 appearances with the Central Illinois Flying Aces in 2018-19.
Why did you choose your number at Ohio State?
I have worn this number for the past couple of years and I wanted to continue wearing it.
Tell us about your family …
My mom is a science teacher. and my dad is a project manger. My sister and brother are twins. My brother, Michael, is headed to the Air Force next summer and my sister, Haley, plays field hockey and is going to college next fall.
Describe your perfect off day.
Wake up and have a good breakfast, then go out and play a round of golf. After that, come home to eat some lunch and take a nap. Then, wake up and hang out with friends or family, eat dinner and end the night with a movie or campfire.
When did you first start playing hockey? Did you play any other sports when you were younger?
I started playing when I was around 5. I played baseball, basketball, soccer and golf growing up.
What is your favorite thing about Columbus so far?
Columbus is awesome because every day there is something new to try or do!
