Matt Barnes, Special Team’s Coordinator / Assistant Secondary Coach
On Nebraska’s receivers:
They’re explosive, and then you couple that with the quarterback’s ability to extend plays. You really got to be locked in. They’re the type of receivers that can take a short catch and hit you with the run after the catch.
Brian Hartline, Assistant Coach – Wide Receivers
On Binjimen Victor:
I think anyone who comes to Ohio State has the potential, or they wouldn’t be here. He’s being a huge leader in our room. He’s doing a great job on the field. He’ll even tell you he can be better.
Justin Fields, QB
On playing Nebraska:
We’re ready for the test. We expect to go out there and do business. It’s just another business trip for us.
Jashon Cornell, DL
On playing a tough opponent like Nebraska:
We take every team seriously. We have to. You never know which team is going to have their day. We never look ahead to the next team. We do exactly what we need to do for that team.
Jonah Jackson, OL
On his progress:
I’m definitely feeling great about the progress I’m making each and every game, but there are still things I’ve got to fix. There are mistakes that have happened on Saturday that I’ve got to improve upon. But I’m definitely feeling great about the progress.
Austin Mack, WR
On off the field activities like Redefining Athletic Standards:
I would say it’s very important. It’s a big passion of mine. We’ve done a lot of good things in the past year. I’m very involved and I want to keep that up as it’s a part of my legacy when I leave here.
Jordan Fuller, SAF
On what it means to him to be named a semi-finalist for the William V. Campbell award:
It means a lot. I just hope I’m making my family proud. That’s really what it is to me. It’s cool getting recognized for sure. It’s really a blessing, a lot of hard work put in.
On depth of safety position:
I think we’ve been playing real well. Obviously Josh (Proctor) and then there’s Marcus Hooker going in there and (Bryson) Shaw is coming along. There’s definitely no shortage of talent. Guys just got to keep getting better.
Haskell Garrett, DL
On Nebraska’s QB and offense:
It’s just a real good offense, high tempo. They’re ready for us. We’ve had this one circled since February, so we’re ready to go.
On playing alongside Chase Young:
It’s very motivating. He’s a leader on and off the field, and he motivates us to play at his level and play at the level that Coach Day expects us to play at.
Thayer Munford, OL
On biggest test against Nebraska:
The biggest test that we as an offense line are going to face is how physical and how good they are. They’re big and agile, and that’s a big test for us.
On not being graded as champions against Miami:
We all know that that wasn’t our best game offensive line-wise. Coach Day challenged us this week to move the ball and move people off the ball…Coach Day doesn’t want us to be relaxed. He wants us to go harder and harder every play, every game that we play and dominate.
Binjimen Victor, WR
On preparing for Nebraska:
We attack every week the same. Obviously Nebraska is a great team. We prepare from Tuesday to today and we’re going to get our last preparation in tomorrow. We look forward to that.
On how he’s improved since last year:
I feel like I’m overall a better player. My biggest goal was to block well and make plays downfield, and that’s what I’m doing now…All that stuff came in the off-season. We just work on that and all the hard work you put in is going to show up on Saturday.
Davon Hamilton, DL
On Coach Day’s message this week:
We got to go out there and be tougher. Obviously they’re a good team. We’re a good team. It’s going to be a good game. The toughest team wins.
On having a bigger challenge:
We just want to win, regardless of the challenge or whatever it may be. At the end of the day, we just want to win
