Ohio State will add a total of 18 scholarship players to 2019 roster
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Head coach Ryan Day announced the completion of Ohio State’s 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday as two more players signed National Letters of Intent to further their academic and athletic careers as members of the Buckeyes’ football program.
The newest members of the class are a pair of offensive linemen: Dawand Jones from Indianapolis and Enokk Vimahi, a native of Kahuku, Hawaii. Coupled with the 15 players who signed in December, Ohio State’s recruiting class finishes with 17 signees.
In January, the Buckeyes also added quarterback Justin Fields, a transfer from the University of Georgia. That brings the total number of newcomers on the 2019 roster to 18. Fields is one of seven newcomers who enrolled for the spring semester. He’s joined by Zach Harrison, Garrett Wilson, Ronnie Hickman, Ryan Jacoby, Noah Potter and Marcus Crowley.
In all, the recruiting class of Buckeyes includes four offensive linemen, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, three defensive linemen, two linebackers, two safeties and one athlete. The group is also geographically diverse with players from 10 different states, led by five from Ohio and two from Georgia and Indiana. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, 12 players are either four or five-star prospects.
