Jonah Jackson, OL
On the keys to playing Clemson :
Be able to execute, be efficient, run the ball, protect the quarterback and score touchdowns. We’re game-planning to win and that’s all we are worried about right now.
On transferring to Ohio State:
If you told me I’d be here doing this right now, I’d probably laugh at you last year. It’s just a blessing to be with these guys and being part of this culture. Starting for this program is incredible.
On Ryan Day:
He seems like a seasoned veteran at what he’s doing. He was under one of the greatest college football coaches of all time. I have not seen an ounce of new-guy or nervousness in him at all. He’s very good.
On being a Buckeye:
I’m enjoying it a lot. Christmas has definitely come early and hopefully we get a couple more presents.

Zach Harrison, DL
On how opponents are blocking Chase Young:
You could really tell at the end of the season after Wisconsin, teams were focusing on shifting Chase and doubling Chase. That’s where us, the other ends, the younger guys have to step up, because we’re left 1-on-1 on the backside.
On having Chase Young as a role model:
Me and Chase talk about it all the time. It’s good always having him around, because I have someone I can chase. We always talk about his freshman year and how I’m trying to have the same impact he had.
On Ryan Day’s first year as head coach:
You could see as the season went on, he got more and more comfortable as a coach. Talking to the team and doing what a head coach needs to do.

Sevyn Banks, CB
On Clemson:
They’re a good team and they might be one of the harder teams we’re going to face. They run around and they’re very good.

Jeremy Ruckert, TE
On coming to Ohio State and his development here:
I just wanted to come to a place that would maximize me in all three levels of being a football player. On the field, off the field, and after football. I think this is the best place to do that, because I knew if I came here I wouldn’t be able to get on the football field unless I pass protect and run block and I think learning those two things the last year and a half have been crucial.
On Clemson’s defense:
They do almost everything. They play hard, they play tough, and they really know their scheme really well, so you really have to get to know everything that they do and sometimes that can be a negative when they do so much that you’re planning for everything.

Tyreke Smith, DL
On Chase Young’s season:
It’s very inspiring. Chase is my big bro. He helps me with everything. Any question I have, he’s right there to help me. We watch film together and he tells me what I could’ve done better. He gives me little pointers that can make me better.
On the importance of the College Football Playoff:
It’s crazy just thinking about where we are now. I was just in high school it seems like and now we’re a contender for the championship. Just to think about where we’re at and that one play could really change the whole history of this program is really crazy.

Shaun Wade, CB
On Clemson:
Great receivers, great quarterback and the running back is very elite. I think he (the running back) is underrated in my opinion, they don’t talk about him like they should. Very athletic crew but at the end of the day, it’s even. The most prepared team will win.
On looking forward to the Clemson challenge:
We talk about it every day, we can’t wait for this game. They’re going to actually put the ball up with their great receivers.
