
Buckeyes Fire Season High Score Against Murray State

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State University Rifle Team posted a team score of 4659, their highest of the season thus far against Murray State on Saturday.
In smallbore the Buckeyes had a balanced performance led by Senior Rhiann Travis who fired a 580. She was followed by Sophomore Ariel Hall and Senior Jacob Buchanan who both fired scores of 576. Sophomore Annie Tomb posted a personal best 574 and fellow sophomore Annabelle Stanec rounded out team scoring with a 569. Freshman Joel Potts led the way for the individuals with a personal best 567 while fellow freshman Katie Ezell also fired a 567. They were followed by Junior Megan Wilcoxson who equaled her personal best with a 563. Elizabeth Dutton (561), Mica Harr (558), Jared Minor (558), Natalie Katsuyama (557), and Wynn Lekhavanija (541) rounded out individual scoring.

In Air rifle Ohio State was led by Travis who fired her season best 592. Hall fired a 590 while Stanec (586), Tomb (585), and Buchanan (575) rounded out team scoring. Ezell led the way for the individuals firing a personal best 593. She was followed by Minor (585), Harr (584), Lekhavanija (582), Dutton (581), Potts (578), Katsuyama (576), and Wilcoxson (558).

Coach Tanoue: “We had a very solid day against Murray State on Saturday and saw quite a few personal and season best performances. These helped us to post our highest score of the season thus far and with three matches remaining in the fall portion of the season we’ll look to continue to improve on this over the next three weeks.”
Ohio State travels to El Paso, Texas for a match with UTEP on Saturday, November 9th.
